FARADAY FUTURE SELECTS NVIDIA FOR NEXT-GENERATION AUTONOMOUS DRIVING
SAN JOSE – Faraday Future (FF), a California-based global shared intelligent mobility ecosystem company, today announced it is deploying the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier platform in its flagship ultra-luxury FF 91 electric vehicle.
At the core of the DRIVE AGX platform is the auto-grade NVIDIA Xavier system-on-a-chip, the first processor developed for autonomous driving. Currently in production, it incorporates six different types of processors for running redundant and diverse algorithms for AI, sensor processing, mapping and driving. Delivering 30 TOPS of performance, the DRIVE AGX Xavier platform can run an array of deep neural networks simultaneously and is designed to safely handle highly complex automated driving functions.
FF is delivering a vehicle that is intuitively connected, autonomous-ready and holistically designed, with unparalleled performance. Equipped with more than 36 sensors and the high-performance computing horsepower of DRIVE AGX, FF 91 aims to achieve advanced highway autonomous driving capabilities and advanced parking & summon features.
FF also designed its AI and user interaction to be as intuitive and convenient as possible. Known as the ‘Third Internet Living Space’ ecosystem, the vehicle is designed to give back more of its users’ invaluable time.
“Autonomous driving and innovation are key parts of FF’s DNA. NVIDIA’s world- renowned expertise in AI and autonomy opened the door for this collaboration, and the reliability of their product and high quality of support will further advance FF 91’s capabilities in autonomous driving,” said Shyam Sundar, Global Head of Vehicle SW Platform at Faraday Future. “FF aims to release our first flagship vehicle before the end of this year, providing our global users with the convenience and comfort from connected and autonomous capabilities on the road.”
According to FF’s new plan, FF 91 will kick off deliveries approximately 9 months following the closing of successful equity funding. The newly announced FF 81 EV will also feature DRIVE AGX Xavier, along with future models and next-generation core technologies. FF will target an IPO within 12-15 months following the conclusion of equity financing. To fulfill the new plan, FF is currently integrating all internal and external resources to facilitate its equity financing efforts.
