MOBILEYE AND PROJECT 3 MOBILITY ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION FOR SCALABLE URBAN AUTONOMOUS MOBILITY PROJECT
Jerusalem and Zagreb – Mobileye, a global leader in autonomous driving solutions, and Project 3 Mobility (P3), a Croatian company building a new ecosystem for urban autonomous mobility, today announced a collaboration to explore a new mobility service, utilizing Mobileye’s scalable self-driving technology, Mobileye Drive™.
Project 3 Mobility aims to significantly improve transportation in urban areas and revolutionize mobility in cities. The first P3 service is aimed to be launched in Zagreb in 2026, with testing and validation of Mobileye's AV solution on the streets of the Croatian capital targeted to start in 2024.
Project 3 Mobility's mission is to redefine urban mobility into a safe, effortless, and premium user experience. By leveraging technology and innovation, P3 is creating a ground-breaking ecosystem consisting of three key elements: an autonomous electric vehicle, specialized infrastructure, and a mobility service platform. Project 3 Mobility is developing a fully autonomous electric vehicle fundamental for implementing this new urban mobility ecosystem. The vehicle is built on a completely new platform designed around safety and comfort, fully utilising the benefits of autonomous driving. Mobileye technology will be integrated into the P3 vehicle, which will use the Mobileye Drive autonomous driving solution that has also been adopted by some of the world’s leading automotive companies.
For the past two decades, Mobileye has used the power of computer vision and artificial intelligence to improve automotive safety, with approxtimately 170 million vehicles integrating Mobileye technology to date. The Mobileye Drive combination of redundant camera and lidar-radar sensing, REM™ crowdsourced mapping and transparent driving policy – all powered by the EyeQ™ system-on-chip - enables Mobileye to offer scalable, adaptable autonomous driving for robotaxis and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) providers. The big benefits of Mobileye Drive are that it can be deployed in a wide range of geographic locations, on many different road types; that it can drive under varying weather conditions; and that it can adapt itself to local driving styles, all of which are crucial for Project 3 Mobility’s service scalability.
P3 has already signed agreements with 9 cities across the EU, UK and GCC to provide its urban autonomous service, and 30 more cities are planned to follow. Also, Project 3 Mobility is about to establish a production facility in Croatia for the large-scale production of autonomous vehicles that will be deployed worldwide.
"We welcome this innovative collaboration with Project 3 Mobility to bring an exciting and promising new mobility service to life," said Prof. Amnon Shashua, founder and CEO of Mobileye. "We share the vision of making urban mobility safer and more accessible, and with the flexibility of Mobileye Drive to adapt to different vehicle types, we’re excited to explore new frontiers in mobility services."
"We are committed to improving how people move in cities. Our collaboration with Mobileye is a cornerstone for achieving that vision. Mobileye has proved to be a great partner that has the right experience, the right technology, and the right team. Together we will make that vision of urban autonomous mobility a reality. I am very excited to share more details in the next few months", said Marko Pejković, CEO of Project 3 Mobility.
Project 3 Mobility’s planned Mobility-as-a-Service project aims to provide customers with more than just transportation from point A to point B. The goal is to give customers an improved user experience tailored to their needs, by giving back time spent in traffic, opening possibilities for leisure or work. The realization of P3‘s project aims to increase efficiency and safety in traffic and achieve a positive impact on the environment and city infrastructure. The project aims to create significant benefits for Zagreb and many other cities that will provide this service.
