STELLANTIS NAMES APTIV A BEST SUPPLIER FOR 2021

Stellantis this week recognized Aptiv as a Best Supplier of 2021 in the Corporate Social Responsibility category at its annual Supplier Awards. The honor acknowledges the operational excellence of our team and the exceptional level of performance we delivered in 2021.

The Corporate Social Responsibility award distinguishes Aptiv for our environmental, social and ethical performance. In particular, the award recognizes our “excellent” EcoVadis score and our commitment to being carbon-neutral by 2040.

Our Commercial Excellence & Strategy team and our Sustainability team met with Stellantis representatives multiple times in 2021 as part of a knowledge-sharing collaboration to review our sustainability plan and opportunities we identified to reduce the carbon footprint of various products.

Aptiv’s mission aligns with Stellantis’s commitment to cut its carbon emissions in half by 2030. At Aptiv, we are working to reduce our own carbon emissions by 25 percent by 2025 and have established aggressive plans to ensure that all of our operations are 100 percent powered by renewable energy by 2030.

Aptiv’s work with Stellantis encompasses all of our business segments, including high-voltage solutions that contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and the development and adoption of vehicle electrification and next-generation advanced safety systems that save lives. We are proud of our longstanding and productive collaboration with Stellantis, which was Aptiv’s largest customer in 2021. We congratulate the company on its second annual Supplier Awards event and thank Stellantis for the honor and privilege of being selected.

This award shines a light on the sustainable strategy at the heart of Aptiv. Our success emanates from a strong, sustainable business model that makes the world a better place. Our people are united across the world by the drive to always do the right thing, the right way, and by our shared mission to deliver safer, greener and more connected technologies that enable the sustainable future of mobility.

GM NAMES APTIV A 2021 SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR

General Motors this week selected Aptiv as a 2021 Supplier of the Year in the Human Machine Interface category. Our work with GM on human-machine interfaces, such as Aptiv media modules, is only the latest chapter in our long history together. We have been a proud supplier and partner to GM for more than a century as Aptiv has led the industry in the evolution of vehicle architectures.

Working with GM’s Consumer Port Module product development team, Aptiv provided media modules and software to bridge consumers’ mobile devices, navigation and entertainment applications to GM vehicles’ infotainment systems, enhancing convenience and the user experience.

Aptiv’s sustainability goals are aligned with GM’s. In particular, we expect our entire product portfolio to be carbon-neutral by 2040, the same year GM plans to be carbon-neutral in its global products and operations. To get there, Aptiv is reducing carbon emissions by 25 percent by 2025 and has established aggressive plans to ensure that all of our operations are 100 percent powered by renewable energy by 2030.

Aptiv’s culture of diversity, equity and inclusion also aligns with GM’s DEI initiatives and mindset. At Aptiv, we embrace differences, because bringing unique perspectives to the table means we can more effectively push past boundaries, meet challenges and shape the future of mobility. Women account for 49 percent of Aptiv’s workforce and occupy 22 percent of leadership roles, exceeding tech and industry averages. We also provide scholarships for female and minority students and reach out to these groups at focused campus networking events at select universities.

Each day, our people come to Aptiv from diverse cultures and backgrounds, but what makes our work meaningful is collaboration. We are united across the world in pursuit of our mission to deliver safer, greener and more connected technologies that enable the future of mobility.

We are proud of our longstanding collaboration with GM, and we congratulate the company on its 30th annual Supplier of the Year event. We thank GM for the honor and privilege of being selected.

APTIV WINS 2021 AUTOMOTIVE NEWS’ PACE AWARD

For 27 years, the Automotive News PACE Awards, has been recognized around the world as the industry benchmark for innovation. Aptiv was recently named a 2021 PACE Award winner for its Solid State Electrical Center. This marks the 24th innovation from Aptiv to win this prestigious honor.

Aptiv’s President of Connection Systems Stefan Rustler shared, “As we move toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, this award underscores Aptiv’s commitment to decarbonization by finding smarter ways to reduce vehicle weight, with products that deliver superior performance while using fewer resources, less energy and less space. Aptiv’s expertise in software and systems integration, combined with our ability to provide automotive-grade compute and signal and power distribution inside the vehicle, continues to set us apart from others looking to help OEMs address vehicle electrical and electronics complexity.”

Aptiv’s Solid State Electrical Centers – also known as smart electrical centers – are power distribution devices that help put OEMs on the path to software-defined vehicle architectures, such as Aptiv’s SVA™ platform. Aptiv’s solution replaces traditional melting fuses with smart fusing  and electromechanical relays with solid-state switches, which reduces system costs, weight, and packaging while enabling diagnostics and intelligent power management features that can be improved after the vehicle has left the factory via over-the-air updates.

Using the advanced technology in smart electrical centers, Aptiv recently demonstrated to a major OEM that it could eliminate one of three traditional electrical centers in one of its vehicles, save 4.4 pounds (2kg) in weight, reduce power requirements by 57 watt hours and reduce overall cost by $40 — all while improving functionality.
