Hangzhou – The fresh ZEEKR 007 is carrying many new technologies invented by ZEEKR’s in-house engineering teams.
The B-class pure electric luxury sedan, based on pure electric product architecture Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA), is the fourth ZEEKR model after ZEEKR 001 in 2021, ZEEKR 009 in 2022 and ZEEKR X in 2023. The ZEEKR 007 measures in at (LxWxH) 4,865mm, 1,900mm, and 1,450mm with a wheelbase of 2,928mm and is the first sedan to adopt an integrated mega-casting rear-end aluminum body which pushes its torsional stiffness to 43,500 N·m/deg.
It is also the first vehicle to be powered by the lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery cell and pack technologies developed by ZEEKR’s in-house battery engineering team. Enhanced by 800V electrical system, a ZEEKR 007 with ZEEKR’s own batteries has 688 kilometers (CLTC) driving range and can charge 500 kilometers of driving range within 15 minutes. The long-range version with CATL’s Qilin batteries can drive 870 kilometers between charges.
The highway Navigation ZEEKR Pilot (NZP), a feature from ZEEKR AD driving assistant system developed by ZEEKR’s own teams, will be available for use in major Chinese cities from delivery. With a sensor suite comprised of 1 lidar, 12 high-definition cameras and 5 millimeter-wave radars, the ZEEKR 007 has advanced smart assist driving function with multiple redundancy. The system is built on the NVIDIA DRIVE car computing platform with dual DRIVE Orin SoCs.
Equipped with 8295 intelligent cockpit platform, the ZEEKR 007 is the first vehicle to have KR AI system with smart features including searching news, doing translations and scheduling so as to offer an interactive in-car experience to ZEEKR users. The ZEEKR Sound stereo, programmed by ZEEKR engineers, delivers an exceptional audio quality and immersive audio experience.
When it comes to the design, the new Hidden Energy design language by ZEEKR is expressed through with ZEEKR Stargate light band in the front face, which is a 90-inch light curtain with 1,711 lamp beads. The lights of the ZEEKR 007 have an industry-leading 10,000 nits of brightness and support personalized projection so the driver and interact with cars and pedestrians in the surrounding world.
INTRODUCING ZEEKR’S NEW LFP EV BATTERIES THAT SUPPORT ULTRA-FAST CHARGING AND HIGH ENERGY DENSITY
Global electric mobility technology company ZEEKR is unveiling new electric vehicle battery technologies that can support ultra-fast charging, high energy density and excellent safety.
The lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell and pack technologies are developed by ZEEKR’s in-house battery research and development team. Enhanced by 800V electrical system, an electric vehicle with ZEEKR’s new technologies can charge 500 kilometers of driving range within 15 minutes. Even at low temperature in winter, the charging performance of ZEEKR vehicles with new batteries outperforms many competitors.
LFP batteries are traditionally regarded by the industry to have lower energy density in comparison with nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries at the cell level. In order to tackle that, ZEEKR’s engineers carefully designed the battery pack for the new LFP to achieve high energy density at the pack level. Thanks to the application of newly-developed materials and simplified structural design, the volume utilization of the new battery pack reaches 83.7%, higher than many global peers.
The excellent energy density does not come with compromise in safety, the packs have passed six strict safety tests including nail penetration conducted by the National Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center.
The ZEEKR 007 pure electric premium sedan will be the first model to be equipped with the new batteries with several vehicle models to follow.
To provide the best charging experience to customers, ZEEKR is rapidly expanding its ultra-fast charging infrastructure. By the end of November, ZEEKR has opened 401 ultra-fast charging stations in China with over 2,200 charging piles that have 360 kilowatts of power. ZEEKR plans to expand the network to 1,000 ultra-fast charging stations in 2024 and will be operating over 10,000 ultra-fast charging piles in 2026.
