>> Second mass-produced electric vehicle to be built on Aiways’ exclusive MAS (More Adaptable Structure) platform

>> Designed to appeal to high-tech generation, looking for zero-emission driving and outstanding performance

>> Aiways U6 to go on sale in China and Europe later this year

Shanghai – Aiways, the Shanghai-based personal mobility provider, has today revealed new images of its next electric vehicle, the Aiways U6. Showcasing the X-type shark nose design, the Aiways U6 displays bold yet ‘pure’ design principles.

The design team has carried over many elements from the initial U6 ion concept while pursuing a pure and simple form language at the heart of the company’s design ethos. Standout design features include a panoramic dome roof and a distinctive rear light matrix inspired by flowing water.

Aerodynamic performance was a key focus of the Aiways’ design team, employing design details to ensure a clean separation of airflow, thereby reducing drag. The muscular ‘sports waistline’ and ‘blade of light’ C-pillar combine to give the vehicle outstanding road presence and a sporty feel.

The sporty yet simple design approach continues inside the cabin which hosts a ‘suspended’ steering wheel, frameless screens with smart-touch technology, wireless mobile charging, customizable interior lighting, wing seats and a sci-fi inspired shift handle design.

The Aiways U6 will become the second vehicle to be mass-produced on the company’s exclusive MAS (More Adaptable Structure) platform. It will sit alongside the Aiways U5 in the line-up, making zero-emission driving more attractive and accessible to younger, tech-focused car buyers. The Aiways U6 will go on sale in China and Europe later this year.

About Aiways

Founded in 2017, Aiways is a Shanghai-based personal mobility provider with its European HQ in Munich, Germany. It was the first Chinese startup to introduce an electric vehicle to the European market with the launch of the U5 in 2020 – a battery-electric SUV with impressive range, style and quality. Aiways continues its expansion in Europe and beyond: order books are open in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, and Israel – with more markets to follow. The U5 is produced at Aiways smart production facility in Shangrao – one of the most modern car production facilities in China and built to meet Industry 4.0 standards. With an initial production capacity of 150,000 units per annum, Aiways can increase this number to 300,000 units when global EV demand rises. Aiways’ next model for Europe will be the U6 electric coupé. With a focus on class-leading aerodynamics, intelligent technology and sporty design, the U6 investigates the exciting future of the Aiways brand.
