We are thrilled to share some of our recent news and welcome new partners to join our mission of delivering autonomous mobility on a global scale by building safe and reliable self-driving vehicle technology.
We just completed our Series C round with a new valuation of over $5.3 billion. The initial closing of $267 million was led by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), participated from existing partners of Fidelity China Special Situations PLC, 5Y Capital (formerly Morningside Venture Capital), Clearvue Partners, and Eight Roads, among others.
n a new strategic partnership, China FAW invested in Pony.ai to deepen collaboration in developing autonomous vehicles jointly. We will give full play to the technical and product advantages in vehicle design and manufacturing, V2X, to Mobility-as-a-service. Moreover, we will work closely together to integrate advanced autonomous driving systems and vehicle platforms to explore the advantages of L4 autonomous driving systems. We will engage in pre-installation mass production and business operations models while strengthening collaboration to accelerate the development and implementation of autonomous driving technology.
Our new round of investment and strategic partnerships compels us to grow and develop at an even faster rate to produce safe and reliable autonomous vehicle technology.
We have been addressing community needs in California since sheltering-in-place. Essential supplies have been especially important among residents with limited transportation access. Our company has been honored to serve those impacted by the pandemic by using our autonomous vehicles to deliver essential supplies to residents, nearby and afar. Over 15,000 packages of food and health kits have been delivered by our autonomous vehicles. As we safely provide assistance to the community, we encountered heartfelt stories from those who were unable to obtain basic necessities prior to the arrival of our autonomous vehicles.
