JIDU TO APPLY BAIDU’S CHATGPT-STYLE PROJECT TO INTELLIGENT DRIVING

JIDU, a new energy smart vehicle company with joint investment from Chinese internet giant Baiduand leading automobile maker Geely, announced on February 14 that it would integrate the capabilities of Baidu’s ChatGPT-like project Ernie Bot to create the world’s first large-scale artificial intelligence interactive experience for smart car users.

Having been involved in the field of artificial intelligence for more than ten years, Baidu has now developed Ernie, an industrial-level knowledge-enhanced model, which has the ability of semantic understanding and language production. Based on this technology, Baidu further launched Ernie Bot, a generative dialogue product, and is accelerating its application for intelligent driving through Apollo, the company’s driverless vehicle.

To meet the various demands of automobile enterprises for smart vehicles, Apollo is equipped with ANP3.0, a high-level intelligent driving software and hardware integration solution. On the basis of ANP3.0, Baidu and JIDU jointly developed an intelligent driving system.

JIDU took the lead in applying Apollo’s high-level intelligent driving capability and safety system, and defined the brand-new concept of smart car research and development – free movement, natural communication and self-growth.

According to the needs of drivers, Baidu and JIDU have also re-integrated and developed Apollo’s high-level intelligent driving ability. This year, JIDU’s first automobile robot ROBO-01 will be officially delivered.

In addition, JIDU indicated that it will launch a digital experience plan for users called "Roboverse", which will include intelligent driving, an intelligent cabin, offline experience space, user service, a mall, in addition to digital art and science fiction projects.

Roboverse’s first offline station in Sanlitun, an area of Beijing’s Chaoyang District, that contains many bars, restaurants and stores, officially opened on February 14. The experience centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen also started official operations. JIDU even signed a cooperation agreement with The Three Body Universe, the adaptation copyright owner of The Three Body Problem, a popular sci-fi novel series, and plans to launch a special version of its automobile robot this year
